The documentary style pervades much of my photographic work including sports, self-assigned projects, photojournalism, and environmental portraiture.

Since 2000 I have been teaching photography at the university level. During this time I have authored a visual anthropology course, produced several visual essays, transitioned from film to digital photography, and persuaded many students to embrace photography as their passion, some even their vocation.

As a professional sports photographer, I have published pictures in Sports Illustrated, ESPN and various other sports news outlets.  I currently cover high school, college and profesional teams, mostly in the Greater Houston, Texas area. You can see my coverage of college and professional teams at Icon Sportswire and high school sports at Maxpreps.

I am a frequent contributor to the Houston Chronicle and Daily News Galveston County; I cover sports, local events and collaborate with writers on personal profile stories.  In the greater Houston area I am a real estate photographer with Shoot2Sell and I partner as a camera operator with Drone Dimensions.

For over twenty-five years I have created assemblages and retablos from found objects. I Also construct photo composites with elements from my collection of sports coverage, landscapes, architecture, street scenes and portraits. My visual narratives reflect ruminations about transcendence, re-invention and restoration.
