"Along the Rio Grande--A New World Becoming" is a visual examination of a confluence of peoples--of cultures, economics, demographics, mythologies--a creative tension out of which new life evolves and new worlds emerge. It has always been this way, at these points of tension, that life exists at its fullest, and it is along this ribbon of water, a 700 mile long natural boundary that two nations become interdependent and may discover that we become human through each other. We shape each other and our environment, and the environment shapes us. This human ecology is rapidly transforming the border along the Rio Grande and is contributing immensely to the experiment we call America.
Along the Rio Grande is neither Mexican, nor American, but a new world becoming.
