"Una exhibición con mucho estilo y gusto. Magnífico. Te felicito."
"Great exhibit. Our God is good--all the time!"
"Eye opening & inspiring."
"Love your magnificent documentation of our magnificent diversity!"
"What's (sic) really gives life its meaning, is: to worship & fully respect your creator."
"Wonderful photos!"
"Wonderful job!"
"Well done!"
"Shows real thought."
"Interesting similarities."
"Would like to see your impression of the mainstream too--Catholics, Lutherans . . ."
"Probably my favorite exhibition in my 8 years at UHCL."
"I think it is great that you chose religious diversity as the topic for your thesis, the pictures are nice, but I am not sure what your thesis is about."
"To me the meaning of life is simple--live right."
"Awesome! I'm doing a report on your photos! Meaning of life . . . LOVE--it's the one constant we all need & if we dig deep enough can give it as well!"
"It's nice to see all the beautiful pictures about different religions. But I'm a bit upset to find only one about Bahá'í Faith. Since you already noticed this religion, why not introduce more about it? And choose those pictures represent more or better about this religion?"
"I think it's wonderful to see the meaning of life in so many ways expressed."
"This art display is very moving spiritually. An interesting variety of religions, but with one goal in mind, heaven."
"These folks may look 'happy'--like they know something we don't know. And maybe a few have realized a purpose & meaning in life . . . but more educated and enlightened people have dissasembled the atom, make lots of stuff to make life better, easier, simpler--whatever, and we spend lots of time explaining life to death. Ya know what I mean? (Gotta go--no time to really look at the pictures. Cell phones ringin', got e-mail, answering machines, call forwarding and call waiting to attend to, a counselor session, some shopping, and a few pages of contemporary angst-ridden, nihilistic pop prose to peruse. Who's got time of a sabbath, let alone a sabbatical--I'm out of here!)"
"Where is the unifying theme or idea between the photos in your collection? You're consistent within each type: The Young Israel of Houston represented by typifying articles like books and hats, but then the Baptist faith is shown by people at worship. If you're merely displaying specimens of various minor religions, then where are the Catholics, hein? We are a minority religion as well! And why these strange alternative new age . . . people. Who really cares--they bear no lineage or substantial importance (?) to original Tratonic cults. It's just not legit."
"Eye catching sinking (?) images. I wish I was in each one as I have a penchant to explore relegion (sic), the meaning of life & wonder--how can you believe that?? My life would be much easier if I could at 34 believe even 1/2 of what relegion (sic) offers. Thank you for taking me inside people's lives, the Jade Buddha temple and that truck! Whan an ordinary white collar everyday person he appears to be, WOW! Thanks so much!"
"Refreshing to see religions taken seriously as a subject of artistic inquiry."
"Interesting and thought provoking--I was struck by the similarities of the worshipful attitudes of the people."
"These photos are all just superficial. How demeaning to represent faith in such a feeble, physical form."
"One song, many voices. What a glorious way to share the great mystery! (Anything less would be sacrilege.)"
